A small bird is collecting straw
to build a nest
in the ruins of the hanging bridge
at Morbi,
not knowing about the collapse of the bridge
that killed 135
persons
for no fault of theirs.
Many women lost their husbands,
Many mothers lost their sons and daughters,
Many sisters lost their brothers,
and vice versa.
But the contractor
responsible for the tragedy
is at large
because ,
He is as powerful as a rock.
He has the support of
his more powerful community,
and more powerful persons
in the echelon
like a creeper against a tree.
After some time people would forget
this tragedy,
because public memory
is very short.
But the family of the dead
are suffering from intense agony
and pain which is difficult to forget.
If you visit the hanging bridge,
at Morbi, you would hear
the cries of the dead
asking for revenge and punishment,
for the culprits and would not rest
in peace,
till the guilty are punished.
