JYOTIRMATH ALIAS JOSHI MATH

JYOTIRMATH ALIAS JOSHI MATH

-       Sagar Mal Gupta (India)

Fissures in the houses

Chinks in the hotels

Cracks in Rudra Prayag and Karan Prayag

Chinks in the shops

Eruption  in the roads

Wicked silence at night

Night of apocalypse.

When people sleep at night,

Residents of Joshimath  weep.

This night may be their last night.

Night’s black eyes stare at

the glorious history.

The confluence of religion, history

and nature is dying.

The explosions of development

has shaken the city

Tears and anger in the residents.

Joshimath, a freshly excavated grave,

to bury  the child of Shankrachrya.
