Suparna Sengupta has an academic career of more than 18 years, teaching at the undergraduate level, in Calcutta and in Bangalore. She has been working as an Assistant Professor, in the Department of English, Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India since 2008. She completed her graduate (2002) and post-graduate studies (2004) from University of Calcutta. She is a published translator, her work appearing in multiple national and international online journals. Her translations have also featured in anthologies on Partition poetry and South Asian literature. Ms Suparna has translated modernist poets from Bengal and Bangladesh. Besides, she has edited anthologies of contemporary Bengali language poetry, which have been released at the Calcutta Book Fair, 2017 and 2018.
