Awatef El
Idrissi Boukhris is a Moroccan poet, novelist, and children’s tales
author. She holds an MA in English studies from Paris Nanterre University,
France. She writes in both French and English. She is a member of different
international and national literary associations with whom she has taken part
in many national and international poetry anthologies published in France, the
USA, Morocco, India, and Kenya. She also took part in many conferences where
she talked about women's literature and in cultural meetings where she presented
her novel and read her poetry. She was awarded four poetry prizes, the last one
being the "Cultural and Artistic
Excellence Award for Poetry in English by the Mohammed VI Foundation in June
2025. Her first prize was in 2010 by the Delegation of Salé and another one in
2011 at the third National Poetry Festival organized by the Ministry of
Education. Her third prize was the same
year at the sixth edition of Casablanca’s International Poetry Festival for
poetry in French. Awatef is now working as a teacher of English.
