Manas Bakshi (India)
Echoed
at dawn
From
the other side of a mountain
A
folk lore of tribal origin
Lamenting
the death of a song
Of
primitive living
Amid
sylvan surroundings.
There
was a sudden shrill
Of
a kite at midnight :
A
call to all who survive delinquency
But
succumb to dualism;
Terms
of living in reality
Differing
from dialectics preached
Fail
to overcome vaunted ego and conceit,
Becomes
difficult to accept life
As
a compact resilience
In
defiance of trouble and strife.
Wherever
you go,
At
the end of lush green
It's
a forsaken house
Like
one after a cyclone or skirmish --
Utensils're
are all scattered,
The
air full of smell of gunpowder from Gaza
Seems
to have vitiated the kitchen,
There
is only a rumble of leakage and lapses.
Everywhere
Leaders
talk of ceasefire,
Ordinary
people face the ordeal of fire --
Frogs
jump all of a sudden
Into
a pond at night
knowing
not
What
the canon of war means .....
It's
implied by a nocturnal sequence
Unveiling
after the rebels' dream split away
And
fresh violence flare up
To
sweep yesterday's dead bodies
Away
from the shore of human conscience.
