Currently serving as Assistant Professor at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, he combines scholarly rigor with a deep commitment to student empowerment.

He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature for his interdisciplinary study of mystical thoughts in Thirumular and Gerard Manley Hopkins. He has also earned an M.Phil., two master’s degrees — in English and in MassCommunication & Journalism — and has successfully cleared both UGC-NET and SET in English Literature. Notably, he secured First Rank in his undergraduate, postgraduate, and M.Phil. programmes.

Dr. Nathan’s research interests span Comparative Literature, Translation Studies, Indian Literatures in English, Literary Criticism, and Eco-aesthetics. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes and regularly presents at national and international conferences. His editorial contributions include serving on the boards of reputed journals like South Asia Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies, IJELLH, and IJRAR.

Beyond academia, he is dedicated to coaching students for UGC-NET/SET, TRB, and competitive examinations. He has coordinated numerous training programs, workshops, and faculty development programmes across Tamil Nadu. He is also actively engaged in community extension activities, bridging rural students with effective English language training.

An advocate of digital learning, Dr. Nathan maintains an educational YouTube channel and a personal academic website, expanding his reach beyond the classroom. He strongly believes that education should cultivate not only knowledge but also critical thinking, ethical values, and lifelong learning skills.
