Tanishka is a research scholar
currently pursuing PhD in English from the Department of English, University of
Delhi. Her academic interests include modern Indian theatre, theatre studies,
feminist writings, Dalit writings, gender studies, and Indian writing in
English. Her research examines how literary and theatrical texts engage with
questions of gender, caste, identity, and socio-cultural change within the
Indian context, with particular attention to marginalised voices and
alternative narratives.
Her
work adopts interdisciplinary approaches drawing on feminist theory, theatre
and performance studies, cultural studies, and postcolonial criticism. She
focuses on modern Indian drama and feminist and Dalit texts, analysing theatre
as a site of resistance, cultural memory, and social intervention. Her ongoing
research contributes to debates in literary and theatre studies by examining
the political and aesthetic strategies of modern Indian theatre and its
engagement with issues of power, representation, and social justice.
