Maidul Islam is a Junior
Research Fellow (JRF) and Ph.D. scholar in the Department of English at Veer
Kunwar Singh University, Ara, Bihar. He completed his Master’s degree in
English Literature from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in 2019.
His academic interests include Disability Studies, Gender Studies, and
contemporary detective fiction.
His
on-going doctoral research focuses on the representation of disability in
detective fiction, particularly examining how disability intersects with
questions of identity, agency, power, and justice in literary narratives. He
has published research articles and book chapters in several reputed academic
journals and edited volumes. His work reflects an interdisciplinary engagement
with literary criticism, disability theory, and cultural studies.
In
addition to his research publications, he has participated in various national
and international seminars and conferences, contributing to scholarly
discussions on marginalized identities and contemporary literary studies. The
present paper, titled “Overcoming Limiting Mobility of a Disabled:
A Study of Disabled Detective in Lethal White,” forms part of
his continuing academic research. This article is the author’s original work
