Priya Kumari is a
fourth-year undergraduate student of English Literature at Daulat Ram College,
University of Delhi. Her academic interests and research focus include feminist
retellings, gender studies, diasporic literature and narratives that challenge
patriarchal norms, particularly within contemporary Indian English literature.
She is particularly interested in examining how traditional texts and
mythological narratives are reinterpreted in contemporary literary and
performative contexts to foreground women’s experiences and interior worlds.
Her engagement with literature also extends to climate fiction and
environmental narratives, with attention to questions of identity,
displacement, ethical responsibility and representations of hysteria and
proto-hysterical responses within ecological and social crises. As an avid
reader and an undergraduate researcher, her academic engagement centers on
close textual analysis and critical inquiry into texts that resist dominant
literary frameworks and recover silenced narratives. Her current work focuses
on feminist reinterpretations of myth and cultural narratives in modern
literature.
