Kuli Kohli was born
in Uttar Pradesh, India, with mild cerebral palsy. She came to England in 1973
and is now a council worker in Wolverhampton and married with 3 children. She
runs a Punjabi Women’s Writing Group and helped run a local writers' group. She
writes a regular blog for Disability Arts Online. Her poetry pamphlet Patchwork
(2016) and her new full poetry collection A Wonder Woman (2021) are
published by Offa’s Press. She has performed her work around the West Midlands,
London, Liverpool, Oswestry and via Skype to India. She was a guest lecturer at
Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. In December 2019, she performed at the
British Museum for the Purple Light Up event celebrating International Disabled
Persons Day. In 2020, Kuli's life story was featured on BBC News online which
led to her being featured on BBC one's Sunday Morning Live show in September 2020.
