Puppets

Puppets

- John Eppel (South Africa)

Donald and Ronald and Barrack and Bill

danced for their masters on Capitol Hill;

Hillary, George, Tricky Dicky and all,

they answered the bankers, the plutocrats’ call:

‘Start wars if you like, bomb clinics and schools,

make profit for us, make loss for these fools:

the poor and the humble, the sick and the lame;

fodder for cannon… making money’s our game.’

They danced for their masters of Upper East Side,

the cream of Manhattan, a star-spangled pride;

rewarded they’ve been with orient pearls,

dollars and collars and under-aged girls.

So, Donald and Ronald and Barrack and Bill,

dance for your masters on Capitol Hill;

Hillary, George, Tricky Dicky and all -

dance till their finger-strings snap, and then crawl.
