CYCLE OF SEASONS

CYCLE OF SEASONS

-       Vinita Agrawal (India)

Frost's first blade has pierced the dying autumn

soon fallen leaves shall lie buried in snow.

The king of light shall grow dim.

Nights shall sprout fingers of ice

and animals hibernate until spring glitters again.

May the earth never freeze, never drown.

Its rivers never dry, its forests never burn.

May seasons come and go, never linger

May brilliant jade never collapse flat brown.
