IN THE MOMENT
- Ted
Pearson (U.S.A.)
1
Sublime
extremities of scale define us.
The
less said the better, though the least
said
it best: we are as specks of cosmic dust
where finite thoughts are laid to rest.
2
Our
labors done, we dwell in dreams.
Psychic
levers pull our strings.
Poems
give voice to human extremes,
bearing witness to impossible things.
3
Is
knowledge of death an impediment
to
thought or a spur to further thinking?
The
winds of discussion power our fate,
which we must face unblinking.
4
Ever
fraught, the history of thought,
resembles
a mise en abyme –
where
each according to its nature mirrors
each
according to its dreams.
