Kamani
Jayasekera is an only child of
academic parents. She is currently engaged as a senior Professor in Western
Classical Culture at a state university, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. She
has been writing from her childhood and has Five Short Story collections and
ten poetry collections to her name. Of these she has won seven literary awards
and two awards for her contribution to English literature in Sri Lanka. The
latest being the ‘Sahithya Rathna Award’ 2022’ the highest award given by the
state to an artist. She is married and lives in her country home over looking a
paddy field with her fur baby.
