MEMORY ENCASED

MEMORY ENCASED

-         Manas Bakshi (India)

Memory of childhood

Lonesome everyone cherishes --

Words that’ve not yet died

Revive at old age,

Settle on the borderline

Between oblivion and remembrance

To ask:

Why love in prime was so delicate?

Two pigeons on a cornice

Once taught

The art of love making,.

The lullaby of childhood

Enjoyed under

The lamp of adolescence

Invoked one day

Instinct's maze,

And the manna of first kiss

In secret --

Unforgettable

If fructifies,

Even if not.......
