Anushka
Mitra, a postgraduate in English Literature from Kolkata, India, is a
passionate writer exploring the complexities of human psychology and Feminism
in her creative works. Her short story, "Grandma's Cupboard," was
featured in the Otherwise Engaged A Literature and Arts Journal (Vol.
13, 2024). Her poems, "Disarray," "In a Corner," "Not
All, Then Who Exactly?," "O, Gleaming Sky," and "Under My
Blanket," were published in the Creative Flight Journal (Vol. 5,
Issue 2, 2024). In 2025, her poems, “The Little Creeper: Grief,” “As Though I
was Born Today,” “During a Solitary Walk,” were published in Powerless
an anthology of thematic poetry by CultureCult Press. Anushka has also authored
two academic articles, “Unveiling Gender Constructs and Body Politics in
Mahasweta Devi’s “Draupadi”” (Critical Gender Studies Journal, Vol. 1,
Issue 2, 2024) and “River of "Quietness" and
"Emptiness" in Arundhati Roy's The God of Small Things” (Creative
Flight Journal, Vol 5, Issue 2, 2024).
Beyond her literary pursuits, she volunteers with NGOs dedicated to the
education of underprivileged children and social welfare.
