EFFACING ONESELF - Manas Bakshi (India)

EFFACING ONESELF

-         Manas Bakshi (India)

"Bound by nothing mundane

I'm like me "

Uttered the saint

At the beginning --

Worldly life

Half- hidden behind soul purified

Half ridden with the blow of justice denied

Grows wild at times

Inhaling pollution in mind !

His domain of contemplation

Explores a celestial lawn

Beyond everything ,

Sometimes mystic

Sometimes transparent .....

There's a diabolic fire ,

There's a catastrophic deluge

All of a sudden,

Without reason --

How surmounting

The fire and the deluge

Survives creation to herald

The power of humanism ?

Amazed to see

Nothing happens like

What one wants it to be,

The saint smiles at himself :

" I'm nothing --

Not even like me

Unless identified by the Supreme Being ...

That's an ascetic way indeed

To perceive the divine One in me

Existing everywhere

In everything

To traverse the trammels

Dominating within".
