ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY - Sagar Mal Gupta (India)

ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

-         Sagar Mal Gupta (India)

I am a vibrant tree,

My waist adorned with a canopy of green,

Dozens of birds and playful squirrels,

Reside in my beautiful branches.

But my home was threatened,

By the onslaught of vehicles,

Spewing poisonous gases,

.Harming my existence.

I sought a safer place,

Conducive to my well-being.

But the chain saw’s roar,

Filled me with dread.

A kind soul found me,

Offered shelter near his home,

In the company of an AC.

Yet soon its hot breath,

Singed my leaves.

,Stifled my breath,

Forced me to flee again.

In search of solitude,

I ran only to encounter a crowd.

They pledged to care for me,

Promised to plant countless trees,

On this World Environment day,

To make the world eco-friendly,

And free from pollution.
