Piyasa Mukherjee is an aspiring academic with a
passion for English literature, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English from the
Central University of Punjab. Her academic journey includes a Master’s degree
in English from The University of Burdwan, with a specialization in Film
Studies, and a distinguished undergraduate degree in the same from
Chandernagore Government College, where she was a college topper.
Her rich academic background is complemented by a
strong teaching portfolio, having served as an Assistant Professor of English
at Guru Kashi University (NAAC A++) and as a Postgraduate Teacher (PGT) at Akal
Academy in Punjab.
Piyasa's academic interests include gender studies,
feminist movements, film studies, and the intersection of literature and media.
She has actively participated in several national and international conferences
and workshops, presenting original research papers on diverse topics.
Outside of academia, Piyasa is an accomplished
debater and has a keen interest in reading, writing, and staging plays. She has
also been recognized for her contributions in various literary and cultural
events, earning accolades such as first place debate competitions. Fluent in
English, Bengali, and Hindi, Piyasa continues to explore interdisciplinary
connections within literature, while fostering an inclusive and intellectually
stimulating environment for her peers.
