TUNNEL
-
Guan Yu (China)
In great depths with
the metro I stray;
the tunnel wraps the world
in strange gray.
My gaze greets the
glass dimly bright,
Revealing truths the
waking eyes neglect.
On my visage, an unseen world does bloom;
In daylight’s glow, it’s hidden from my gloom.
Beneath my brow, dark and arched with pride,
A turtle, beetle, gems, and rivers glide.
Oh, in mirror’s realm, where autumn’s tasks unfold,
They gather food, as darkness gathers cold.
In this crisp night, I dare not startle or disrupt;
Silence reigns in this ancient vault.
So let them be, in twilight’s embrace;
In these moments, peace crowns grace.
