Prarthona Roy is a 20-year-old undergraduate student currently pursuing
her degree in English Literature at Barasat Government College, where she is
studying in her Sixth semester of the four-year graduation course. Her academic
interests lie at cultural studies, literary movements and textual analysis. In
her current research, she explores the cross-cultural dynamics of literary
adaptation, specifically analyzing Akira Kurosawa’s cinematic translation of
William Shakespeare’s Macbeth in his masterpiece Throne of Blood. This is her
first formal journal publication.
