MAN OR MONKEY!
Sanjana Srivastava (India)
Mind is a maniacal monkey,
Swinging from the chandelier,
Dangling from pitch pine to plum tree.
Mind is a frenzied frog,
With ungraspable slimy skin and unfathomable eyeballs.
It jumps, hops, leaps, croaks.
Is mind your monarch?
Or is it your devoted dutiful pet dog?
Who wins the fracas?
The tamed flesh or the untamed frog?
Bounteous and plenteous is the unconscious land,
To plant marigold, mango
and melon.
Joggle your cogitation,
notion and rumination,
Abandon the monkey to
starvation.
Carl Jung said,
“Until you make the
unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
Said Napoleon Hill,
“Weeds will grow in
abundance, if seeds of a more desirable nature
are not sewn therein.”
