Dr. Madhurima Mukhopadhyay
is an Assistant Professor at the Amity Institute of English Studies and
Research, Amity University Kolkata. She has been awarded her PhD from the
Faculty of Arts, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Her research interests range
from women’s travel writing in the colonial period in Bengal to issues of
marriage and domestic violence in globalized India. She has published articles
in journals such as Economic and Political Weekly, Agathos: An
International Review of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Sahitya,
Assonance, and Dialog. She is the co-author of the book The
Violent Domestic: Law, Its Practice and the Strategies of Survival,
published by Zubaan, New Delhi (2022). She has also published several book
chapters, translations of articles, travelogues, book reviews, and editorials
in leading Bangla and English dailies.
