DEVI
-
Sudeep Kumar Roy Choudhury (India)
PART 1
The fervid orb
rides a gilded chariot,
Traversing
across the colossal crimson hue -
Translucent
dew drops on green foliage and floral bloom,
Shimmering
with the effulgence of golden beams.
The leafy
branches laden with ambroisal blossoms,
Branching out
from verdurous dense canopy -
Soft wrinkles
in luscent stream echo -
Twirling,
rushing over pebbly rocks, a winding brook -
To meet the
illimitable blue.
The slanting
rays bathe in golden hue,
Sew a veil
with fine spun light,
Guards the
elusive ineffable beauty -
Sunken in
lassitude, devi Sita lingers in solitary bower,
Her soleumn
countenance radiant with regal glow -
Her pensive
glance of enamoured love,
From beneath
down cast eyes,
Clung to a
ring, glinted in golden sheen,
Dazzle with
crystal hues -
It's a
tressure relic -
Brings
blissful notes of music resonating love.
PART 2
Softly creeps
the luminous moon,
Behind the
floating clouds,
Gazing on her
alluring eyes,
Shines
brightly and kisses her blanched cheeks,
Glimmering
upon the tranquil bank.
On the brink
of despondency,
Cadent pearls
roll beneath her emerald eyes,
Cascade
torrents with profusion of love.
Her silent
tears of desolate life,
Aches her
heart in melancholy-
Pain dwelling
deep down her throbbing bossom,
She wails - Oh
mother Vasundhara!!
Where is my
lord Raghunandan?
Gentle wind
from ceaseless waves
At distant
shores -
Whisper in her
ears - Sita!!
My dear Sita!
Like a swan
unfurl my pinion plumes,
Soft gales
play beneath my quills,
Sailing
fervently through loftier clouds of reminiscences,
Breaking the
shackles-
My soul ablaze
-
Fervour with
sanguine blazing flames,
Coalesce in
timeless eternal form.
