Dr. B. Mercy Gnanabai is an academic and researcher in English literature. She began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from St. Joseph’s College of Arts and Science, Cuddalore. She then pursued a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in English at Pope John Paul II College of Education, Puducherry. Following her initial studies, Dr.Gnanabai was selected through a campus recruitment program and taught for three months at Our Lady Victory English Higher Secondary School in Bahour, Puducherry. She subsequently earned both her Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in English from Pondicherry University. From 2017 to 2019, she served as a Lecturer in English at Idaya Arts and Science College for Women, Puducherry. Driven by a profound dedication to language and literature, Dr.Gnanabai continued her academic pursuits, culminating in the completion of her Doctorate in English Literature in 2025 from Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute University, Maduravoyal, Chennai. She has completed State Eligibility Test (SET) in the year 2011. Having more than 10 yrs of teaching experience, presently she is an Assistant Professor, Department of EnglishChikkaiah Govt. Arts and Science CollegeErode, Tamil Nadu, India. She has been acted as an External Examiner for M. Phil Scholars. To her credit she has acted as a member in various bodies like- Board of Studies, Women Development Cell, IQUAC (Internal Quality Assessment Cell) etc. and organized State level Seminars. Her keen interest in research made her to publish and present more than 30 research articles in scholarly journals, seminars, conferences and workshops.
